Maintenance Technician I-Maintenance
POSITION SUMMARY
Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, overhead cranes, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
* Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical/electronic equipment, and gas fired boiler and furnaces including but not limited to programmable controls, numeral controls, power supplies, drives, gages and test equipment.
* Plans and performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of mechanical theories and principles, writing specifications, electrical codes, properties of various materials, and principles of operation and application.
* Works in compliance with OSHA requirements.
* Advises operators and line mechanics of operation procedures and informs management of potential mechanical problems and inherent dangers.
* Maintains company required performance and maintenance records for identified equipment.
* Has a thorough knowledge of mechanical/technical components and equipment including the use of special instruments for diagnostic purposes.
* Installs, diagnoses, repairs and maintains a variety of production and building equipment.
* Adjusts to and follows new procedures and innovations, which would add efficiency and safety of the operation.

QUALIFICATIONS and EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Education and/or Experience:
Level 1: Requires two-year certificate from college or technical school; with zero to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures in industrial maintenance.
Level 2: Requires two-year certificate from college or technical school; with at least 2 to 4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures in industrial maintenance.
