Job Title: Maintenance Technician IISalary Range: $50,000 - $54,000 (full-time, non-exempt)Reports to: Director of FacilitiesMISSION: For more than 50 years, the Conservancy of Southwest Florida has been a leading environmental advocacy organization dedicated to protecting Southwest Florida's water, land, wildlife, and future. PURPOSE OF JOB: Perform a broad range of maintenance technician duties, including preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of campus buildings, grounds, and electric boat equipment.RESPONSIBILITIES:Maintenance and Repairs:•Performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair to building and grounds equipment.•Performs general maintenance repairs and upkeep of interior/exterior buildings.Boat Maintenance and Support:•Identify boat mechanical issues and resolve any that are not covered by warranty or need external expertise.•Works with the Guest Services and Boat Volunteers to communicate the correct use of vessels.•Oversees the maintenance of electric boat vessels and replaces basic components as needed.Safety and Maintenance Programs:•Identifies and corrects safety hazards and potential maintenance issues.•Manages and/or develops preventive maintenance programs.•Possess proficient boating experience Relationship Building:•Develops and maintains good working relationships across all levels in the organization.Administrative and Resource Management:•Filing and ordering spare parts and tools.•Handles multiple projects and daily activities.•Supports overseeing outside contractors performing emergency repairs and service contracts for the Facilities Team Manager or Director.Event Support and Schedule Flexibility:•Perform setup/tear down for Conservancy Events.•Maintain a flexible work schedule, including Tuesday through Saturday, with additional evening and Sunday coverage as necessary. Emergency Response and Overtime:•Work overtime for emergencies.•As necessary and as scheduled, perform on-call duties.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE•A one-year certificate from college or technical school, two to five years of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.•Demonstrated knowledge and fundamental expertise in electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and boat equipment maintenance and repair.•Strong decision-making and prioritization skills.•Effective verbal and written communication abilities.•Proficient organizational and computer skills.•Leadership and team influence capabilities.•Availability for on-call duty, weekends, and overtime as required.•Proficiency in ladder work and physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds.SKILLS AND ABILITIES•Proficiency in reading and interpreting safety rules, manuals, and documents.•Strong report writing and correspondence skills.•Effective verbal communication, including speaking before groups.•Mathematical skills for addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, as well as rate, ratio, and percent calculations.•Ability to create and interpret bar graphs and calculate proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.•Application of basic algebra and geometry concepts.•Practical problem-solving ability for standardized situations.•Willingness to work flexible shifts, weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.•Proficiency with watercraft operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance The above statements describe the general qualifications required to perform the job and the general nature and level of work performed - not a complete list of duties; management may assign additional responsibilities.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS •Valid driver's license and good driving record.PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT This job description recognizes that reasonable accommodations may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the role.
