Ensure that the plant is running in peak condition in a safe and reliable manner. Provide outstanding customer service to the manufacturing and support groups in all areas of facilities through excellent workmanship, attentiveness to business needs, strong interpersonal skills and keeping of detailed records. Troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade plant processing, labeling, packaging, and filling line equipment. Serve as technical resource to manufacturing and engineering groups. Level 2-4 technicians aid in the training and development of the technicians at a lower level in the career path. This weekend day shift works 6a-6p and may include overtime or on-call support at times. Non-Negotiable Requirements: Requires high school diploma or equivalent. (Associates degree desired). A minimum of 1 years' experience in maintenance field or in related area. Levels II-IV may require completion of an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Experience with the troubleshooting of PLCs is expected at this level. Mechanic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical knowledge & aptitude required along with an understanding of preventive maintenance programs. Ability to work physical job where there will be a need to climb ladders, crawl in plenum areas, lift and carry heavy equipment, bend, stoop and work in uncomfortable positions. Physically capable of working under all weather conditions.Must have and maintain a valid Michigan driver's license. Mathematical skills to include as a minimum ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, determine linear measurements, compute areas and volumes of conventional shapes and forms, and compute approximate weight of objects. Must have proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Preferred Requirements: Work experience is in FDA (food/pharma) or other regulated environment. Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to): Accurately read, analyze, and interpret standard operating procedures (SOP), electrical schematics, service manuals, technical bulletins, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service. Ensure the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing maintenance requirements on filling, inspection, packaging/processing equipment along with facilities and utilities. Monitor equipment and systems performance through interpretation of gauge readings, vibration and other tests, and sensitivity for unusual conditions. Adjust equipment according to specifications to ensure optimal performance. Perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment and systems according to a prescribed plan and schedule. This may include, but is not limited to, such tasks as: Lubricate and adjust moving equipment. Clean and vacuum finned coils and door gaskets. Check, clean, or replace filters. Check controls calibration. Replace sanitary gaskets, RO membranes, and sanitize water systems. Facility audits, visual inspection routes. Record-keeping, logs, reports Perform corrective maintenance in multi-trade crafts on a Work Order basis relating to the general upkeep of the facilities/systems/equipment which may include, but is not limited to, tasks such as: Support equipment change-overs. Equipment repair, rebuild, or component replacement. General plumbing repairs to lab, kitchen and lavatory fixtures/drains. Minor drywall patch, paint, caulk, ceiling tile replacement. Door hardware repair and adjustment. Replace light bulbs and fluorescent fixtures, ballast and perform minor electrical repair work. Hang, anchor furniture, fixtures, signs, tag equipment. Assemble purchased equipment. Be readily available for emergency repairs in breakdown situations. Maintain an inventory of necessary spare parts and supplies. Check parts out and assign to proper work order, report low levels for replenishment to Supervisor. Maintain various hand tools and equipment: drills, grinders, micrometers, calipers, torches, welders, drill press, lathe, multimeter, etc. Maintain equipment spaces including shop and mechanical rooms in a neat, clean, and safe manner. Routinely inspect buildings and report all deficiencies unable to be corrected to the Maintenance Supervisor or Manager and/or Facilities Engineer.
