MAINTENANCE TECHNICIANJob DetailsJob LocationSchenectady JCC - Schenectady, NYPosition TypeFull TimeSalary Range$18.00 - $19.00 HourlyJob ShiftAnyDescriptionWe are looking for a Maintenance Technician to undertake the responsibility to preserve the good condition and functionality of the SJCC. You will perform maintenance tasks of great variety such as painting, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, landscaping etc. A Maintenance Technician is a professional with the ability to work alone or in a team environment.Responsibilities & Duties:Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionalityInspect alarm systems (fire, protection) and schedule repairs when neededPerform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, replace windows etc.)Conduct general upkeep procedures (e.g. landscaping) and other tasks as assigned (painting, carpentry etc.)Perform maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and sockets, change ballast, outlets, clean, etc.)Maintain floors by stripping, waxing and cleaning carpetsMaintain function of toilets, urinals and showersRepairing and maintaining walls (cutting wood, hanging drywall and taping)Setting up and tearing down for eventsPerform snow removal. (snow blow, shovel)Able to work flexible hours at times.Custodial work as neededQualificationsHigh School diploma or equivalentMinimum of 2 years of experience in plumbing, electrical and HVAC. Certification in HVAC or CMRP is a plusBasic understanding of electrical, hydraulic and other systemsKnowledge of general maintenance processes and methodsWorking knowledge of tools, common appliances and devicesManual dexterity and problem-solving skillsMust have reliable transportation and drivers licensePhysical Demands:Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.Good physical condition and strengthAble to stand on feet for long periods of time.Able to kneel, squat and bend for extended periods of time.We offer competitive wages and benefits including health insurance, paid time off, National and Jewish holiday pay, 401k and free family membership.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions.
