The Maintenance Technician is responsible to install and repair mechanical and electrical systems, apparatus and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment by performing the following duties:RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with Engineering, Team Leaders etc. to identify and set technical priorities to resolve issues preventing machines from reaching goal performance.
- Work closely with maintenance team to develop robust troubleshooting and PM programs.
- Manage the PM program including the scheduling, writing PM's and entering of all required PM's using CMMS software.
- Perform Preventive maintenance on cell equipment.
- Install power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as robots, conveyors and programmable controllers.
- Install plumbing for hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Connect power supply wires to machines and equipment and connect cables and wires between machines and equipment.
- Test malfunctioning machinery and discuss malfunction with other Maintenance Technicians for root cause.
- Replace faulty components of machine such as relays, switches, motors, pneumatics, positions sensing devices, etc
- Read and interpret mechanical and electrical blueprints.
- Work closely with and communicate with Systems Providers and engineers to diagnose and repair machine breakdowns quickly.
- Manipulate teach pendent and programmable controllers to adjust automated machinery.
- Knowledge of robotics and integrated cameras.
- Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
- Work with maintenance to order spare parts and maintain the spare parts crib stock.
- Assist Systems Technicians and fill in as needed.
- Operate Lift truck and scissors lift, as needed.
- Track and fill out spreadsheets for production OEE and shift reports.
- Fabricate any part necessary to keep the cell running.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma, one to three years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Journeyman, or 3 to 5 years experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLC).
- Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
- Demonstrated ability to solve practical problems.
