Maintenance Technician needed for a local lumberyard.Location: 17600 E Smith Rd - Aurora, COJob Type: Full-timeStatus: Non-ExemptHours: 6am to 3:30pm or 3:30pm to 2pm Monday - Friday; Saturdays if business needs require.Salary: $22.00-28.00Supplemental Pay: NoneSummary: Responsible for the maintenance of all equipment, the repair or replacement of failed components, the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and recommend adjustments to sustain daily operational output of equipment.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Schedule, perform and document regular preventative, corrective and predictive maintenance on various trucks and equipment.
  • Perform various machine repairs, installation, and maintenance functions on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic manufacturing equipment.
  • Ensure all equipment and systems used in the facilities perform optimally to meet the company's day and night shift production and shipping goals.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, blueprints and schematics to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Coordinates with Division Manager, Operations Manager and Yard Manager to complete projects and work orders efficiently and in a timely manner.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot and repair routine electrical (such as motor starters, switches and sensors using multi-meters and amp probes) and mechanical (hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical drive systems at the component level) problems on all plant equipment.
  • Conduct equipment breakdown analysis. Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test, and make adjustments as needed.
  • Maintain parts inventory and order parts, tools and supplies as needed; ability to work with vendors and suppliers.
  • Perform technical tasks such as fabrication, welding, machinist skills.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production hours.
  • Participate in coordination of expansion/reorganization projects; installs, relocates, or removes from service new and existing equipment.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards, policies, procedures and health and safety regulations.
  • Perform related work as required and assigned.

  • High school diploma / GED equivalent.
  • Associate Degree, Technical Degree or Certificate in Mechanics, Industrial Technology or equivalent in related field preferred.
Experience:
  • 1-2 years of maintenance experience in a similar field is preferred.
  • Experience working with mechanical, electrical, pneumatics, hydraulic equipment.
  • Welding experience
  • Extensive experience with programming/troubleshooting
  • Valid driver's license.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
  • Possess a fundamental understanding of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical drawings/schematics
  • Mechanical aptitude and trouble shooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to take projects/tasks through to completion.
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills with the ability to effectively work on multiple projects.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
  • Basic computer skills in Excel, Word, Outlook or Google.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn software applications related to job functions.
  • Ability to convey communications clearly and concisely
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving ability.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to move about the facility.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, carry and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to bend, kneel, squat, stoop and reach the floor and items above shoulder level.
  • Able to work effectively independently as well as part of the team.
  • Able to multitask and work in an extremely fast paced environment.
  • Willing to follow procedures and take direction.
