Maintenance TechnicianFamilies and Youth. Inc. Youth is hiring a full-time Maintenance TechnicianThe maintenance technician is responsible for conducting general maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and property structures. They ensure that heating and plumbing systems perform at optimum functionality, the installations HVAC and, the upkeep of the landscape. Essentially, the goal of a maintenance technician is to maintain the facilities and common areas in the best possible condition.Physical Requirements and Environmental ConditionsProlonged periods standing and walking. Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time. Key Responsibilities:Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standardsRespond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel and follow safety protocolPerform basic maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and sockets, etc.)Maintain Basic heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionalityInspect alarm systems (fire, protection) and schedule repairs when neededPerform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, replace windows, filling gaps on walls, painting, moving furniture, building furniture, etc.)Undertake activities of pest control such as spraying insecticide (if needed)Conduct general upkeep procedures (e.g. landscaping) and other tasks as assigned)Install appliances and equipmentCommunicating existing and potential issues with supervisorsCleaning and maintaining of tools/equipmentTroubleshooting equipmentOther duties as assignedJob Qualifications:High School diploma or equivalent required. Related experience preferred. Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems Experience using hand and electrical tools Communication and interpersonal skillsBasic Computer skills (using word processing software, creating spreadsheets, using printers and other work-related equipment, or looking up information online.)Must pass a CYFD Criminal Records Check
