This role is integral to the smooth running of our production line and maintaining the high quality of our products. The successful candidate will have a strong background in food manufacturing maintenance, with a proven track record of maintaining and servicing production equipment, installing new production equipment, and performing mechanical and electrical maintenance repairs. Responsibilities:As a Permanent Maintenance Technician, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Regularly inspecting and testing machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Performing mechanical and electrical maintenance repairs to keep our production line running smoothly.
- Installing new production equipment and ensuring its proper configuration and operation.
- Adhering to all facility policies concerning safety, security, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Completing work orders and documenting all maintenance activities accurately and in a timely manner.
- Cleaning and lubricating shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery to prevent breakdowns and prolong their lifespan.
- Operating forklifts, genie lifts, scissor lifts, and other powered industrial trucks (PIT) safely and efficiently.
- Using your critical thinking skills to troubleshoot and solve complex machinery issues.
- Carrying out preventive maintenance to avoid unnecessary disruptions and maintain the high quality of our products.
Qualifications:To be considered for the Permanent Maintenance Technician role, you must have the following:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a maintenance technician in the food manufacturing industry.
- Experience installing new production equipment and performing mechanical and electrical maintenance repairs.
- The ability to read and execute work orders, write daily reports, and translate equipment manuals.
- Strong knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Proven ability to operate a forklift, genie lift, or scissor lift or other powered industrial trucks (PIT).
- An associate's degree or technical degree from a trade school and/or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience in manufacturing is preferred.
- Excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to solve complex machinery issues.
- A strong commitment to safety, security, and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Proven experience with preventive maintenance and a keen eye for detail.
