The Maintenance Technician is responsible for executing preventive maintenance and performing routine troubleshooting and repair of equipment and facilities. Roles and Responsibilities: Provides Level 1 electrical and mechanical maintenance support for plant facilities and equipment. Responsible for completing work consistent with local, state and national codes and regulations. Follows all safety guidelines and uses the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Fabricates electrical and mechanical equipment for the plant as required. Responsible for relocation of manufacturing equipment and necessary utilities. Includes working with contractors and internal execution of those changes. Responsible for completing work orders as assigned. Responsible for auditing and signoff of operator PM manuals. Expected to be a team player and share responsibilities with other maintenance team members. Responsible for requesting the purchase of all supplies or parts required to support the plant operations. Performs proper preventive maintenance as required on any equipment and facilities as assigned. Documents necessary information as required for preventive maintenance system and other systems or program requirements. Responsible for keeping work area and equipment clean and well organized. Supports the Vision and Guiding Principles and other policies of Kimball International and National Office Furniture. Follows and supports the Quality system. Able to use required gauges and measuring devices. Qualifications: Must be able lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and be able climb on equipment, ladders and up steps. Educational A technical degree or certification in industrial maintenance or equivalent is desirable. Able to write legibly and read and comprehend required documents. Able to accomplish required math. Basic knowledge on use of computers is desirable
