Job Description: Glacial Lakes Energy (GLE), a corn ethanol industry leader, is looking to fill Maintenance Technician position which is a multi-skilled technician repairing and maintaining a state of the art production facility in Huron, SD. Founded in 2001, GLE employs approximately 180 team members between four ethanol facilities located in Watertown, Huron, Aberdeen and Mina, SD. You will work on-site at a leading South Dakota producer of renewable fuels facility, repairing machinery and equipment maintenance and cleaning of all equipment associated with plant process, including building and grounds as directed. As a Maintenance Technician (knowledgeable and competent as a production equipment, mechanic, multi-skilled technician) you'll capitalize and build upon your industrial knowledge and skill base. Job Requirements: Under supervision, perform and prevent maintenance and repair of all process and utility plant equipment building, and grounds. Includes troubleshooting, preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment including but not limited to pumps, rolling stock, electrical components, tanks, vessels and pipe welding, heat exchangers, and gain/elevator equipment. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • High School Graduate or equivalent (GED).
  • Training in Mechanical Heating/Cooling, Electrical, Building Trades/Maintenance and/or Certified Welder is preferred.
  • Must have working knowledge of maintenance procedures for centrifuges, drying equipment, boilers, cooling towers, chillers, air compressors, pumps, valves, electrical circuits and equipment and 4-20 milliamp instrumentation.
  • One (1) to two (2) years of experience within the maintenance field or related fields, experience in ethanol plants highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulation required.
  • Must be able to meet call-in requirements as needed.
