As a Poly Maintenance Technician at Superior Tire & Rubber Corp., your primary responsibility is to ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of industrial machinery and equipment. You will play a crucial role in preventing downtime, minimizing disruptions, and optimizing overall production processes within an industrial facility.
Essential Job Functions:
Equipment Maintenance:
* Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on a variety of industrial machinery such as pouring equipment, industrial ovens, and other production machinery as needed.
* Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues to identify root causes of equipment failures.
* Conduct regular equipment assessments to identify potential issues before they escalate.
* Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and other shop equipment.
Repair and Replacement:
* Execute timely repairs and part replacements to minimize equipment downtime and maintain optimal production levels.
* Collaborate with the maintenance team to order and manage spare parts inventory.
* Install, align, and adjust new equipment as needed.
Technical Support:
* Adhere to and promote safety protocols and procedures to ensure a secure working environment.
* Conduct safety inspections on machinery and equipment to identify and rectify potential hazards.
Documentation:
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, replacements, and inspections.
* Document equipment specifications, manuals, and relevant technical information
Training and Collaboration:
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to share knowledge and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Continuous Improvement:
* Assist in maintaining the overall cleanliness and organization of the maintenance area.
* Participate in facility improvement projects as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
* This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the company.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
* Full Time Non-Exempt
* Monday through Friday
* Weekends as needed.
* Required to work onsite 100% of the time.
Travel:
* Limited travel in the Warren area
Work Environment:
* While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office environment.
* Percentage of Office - 5%
* Percentage of Travel - 5%
* Percentage of Manufacturing and Distribution - 80%

Required and Experience:
* High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or vocational training is preferred.
* Proven experience in industrial maintenance, including expertise in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
Competencies/Skills:
* Strong understanding of safety protocols and the ability to adhere to industry regulations.
* Proficiency in reading technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
