The Maintenance Technician is responsible for safely and efficiently maintaining company equipment in the field under direction of the Shop Foreman or Maintenance Supervisor.
* Operate a hoist and lift devices to position machinery in a safe manner
* Diagnose, repair, assemble, inspect and maintain equipment and vehicles
* Continuously review and research industry standards and equipment updates
* Carry out approved Management of Change requests as directed by Site Manager or Maintenance Manager
* Respond to emergency situations; participate in routine emergency response practice drills, on the job training to ensure the security of all STEP professionals, the equipment and the environment
* Maintain and repair the equipment in accordance with the company required standards and communicate to Shop Foreman or Site Manager, when on site
* Provide relevant mentoring to the Field Professionals on their maintenance duties
* Have a thorough knowledge of the STEP Energy Services safety program and ensure proper PPE and safe work procedures are maintained allowing each task to be performed in a safe and efficient manner
* Conduct work observations of JSA safe work procedures and document them as they pertain to maintenance procedures
* Maintain and accurately complete Department of Transportation log book and submit weekly
* Assist, participate and mentor others on conducting pre job safety meetings and equipment inspections
* Complete work orders and other paperwork as required
* Maintain and update required safety tickets and orientations as required
* Ensure good housekeeping standards are met at all times
* Perform proper oil sampling, post failure strategies and root cause investigations

WE REQUIRE:
Related experience:
* Valid CDL license
* Heavy Equipment Technician certification. Dual certifications preferred
* Able to successfully pass a pre-employment medical and drug test
* Relevant industry experience is an asset
* Effective interpersonal skills (spoken and written communication)
* High school graduate (preferred)
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook to complete day to day operations.
