Job Description:
Title: Maintenance Technician Location: Rochester, NY 14624 Job Type: 4 Months Contract to Hire On-site, Monday - Friday 7am-3:30 PM Position Overview: Client is seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician /Supervisor to join the team! Works from any of the following: specifications, diagrams, sketches, technical manuals, models, original designs, or verbal instructions.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs electrical problems; performs electrical repairs and installations on non-Energized circuits (commensurate with experience or training/certification).
  • Maintains facilities as directed by the Maintenance Senior Staff including, but not limited to snow plowing, salting, yard maintenance, floor cleaning, painting, light electrical, light plumbing.
  • Conducts daily facilities maintenance inspections checks
  • Build fixtures and machine attachments to support production.
  • Observes electro-mechanical/pneumatic devices in operation, diagnoses problems, performs corrective action and insures proper operation post-repair.
  • Disassembles devices to gain access to remove defective parts; uses hoists, cranes, hand tools, power tools and occasionally installs repaired parts and reassembles devices.
  • Inspects used parts to determine changes and dimensional requirements using measuring instruments.
  • Must be available for call-in and overtime on all shifts.
  • Assist and/or perform production equipment set-ups as directed.
  • Operate production equipment as needed in accordance with good manufacturing practices and standard operating procedures.
  • Assist operators in troubleshooting equipment when quality or efficiencies are less than standard.
  • Troubleshoot problems with equipment, devices or products.
  • Assist Production Dept. based on scheduled demands.
  • Assist with EHS responsibilities as needed
  • Assist with the managing of Tool Room as needed.
  • Ability to set up and operate all Level I and Level II equipment.
  • Ability to train and assist Maintenance Technician I and II
  • Train and assist Maintenance Technician I and II
  • Assist engineering with installation, testing and validation of new products and production equipment.
  • Provides backup to Maintenance Manager as needed.
Qualifications, Education and Experience
  • Associates Degree, Technical Training, or 5 plus years work related experience
  • Organized and detailed with assigned duties
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends
  • Working knowledge of all maintenance related skills
  • Proactive; exercises sound judgment and decision making; able to identify problems and needs and develop solutions and/or options.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.) Visio, and Outlook email
