This segment is classified into two main product groupings - carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.Job Description:Minimize machine downtime, increase efficiency and reduce cost through planned maintenance and prompt response to unplanned maintenance requests on the production equipment used to produce fiber optic cables.12-hour night shift from 7pm to 7am (Will train on days before going to nights)Duties and Responsibilities:Perform root cause analysis of breakdowns and implement corrective actions.Prepare written maintenance instructions, records, and procedures.Maintain accurate and timely records in a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), Maximo.Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electro-mechanical equipment.Perform detailed routine maintenance tasks.Perform tasks as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor/Coordinator.Self-motivated with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.In-depth understanding of electrical and mechanical principles.Thorough working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.Experience with LOTO and electrical safety.Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.Experience in the use of hand tools, precision measuring equipment, and machine shop equipment.Good communication skills with accuracy, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.Ability to react positively to rapidly changing priorities.Capable of independently managing multiple tasks with minimal supervision.Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work with diverse groups of people.Experience with Maximo CMMS system for maintenance.Experience with the OSI PI (historian) interface.Effective in managing multiple priorities.Demonstrated initiative and an eagerness to drive continuous improvement.Education:Two-year associate degree from an accredited college or a technical degree from a community college; orAt least four years of experience in maintenance at an industrial manufacturing environment with high school diploma or GED; orMilitary background with maintenance and technical experience & 5+ years in an industrial manufacturing environment.Minimum Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent is required.One (1) year of service as a regular Corning employee in Coloring from the posting removal date is required to participate in the notice of interest posting process.Additional Skills Required:The Job Assignment Team will review the following for all applicants:Active Certification in the posted position.Worked on current shift for 12 months or more.One year of service at WCP as a Corning employee.Current discipline cannot exceed a verbal. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
