JOB SUMMARYThe Maintenance position is responsible for keeping the machines running as efficiently as possible in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Comply with Westlake Safety Policies and ProceduresPerform a variety of semiskilled duties in the areas of plumbing, carpentry,electrical, fabrication, mechanical repairs, machine lubrication, painting, or plasteringMaintain, service, and conduct minor repairs on buildings and equipmentKnowledge of safety procedures and safety consciousSteady and dependableOrganize, coordinate, and assist in managing the overall maintenance programs including property appearance, timely work order service, and cost-effective inventory control of the propertiesAssist in all service areas as neededUnder the direction of the Maintenance - Superintendent and the production management department, obtain knowledge for equipment maintenance servicing and scheduling, vendor interaction, and other related servicesOther duties as assignedRegular attendance, timeliness, and scheduling flexibilityKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESLeadership and facilitation skillsAbility to interact effectively with various levels in the organizationExcellent verbal interpersonal and written communication skillsGood mechanical, electrical, and controls skillsPrior experience consideredAbility to conduct oneself accurately, patiently, carefully, responsibly, quickly, and alertlyCommitment to good attendance record and personal appearanceSelf-starter attitudeEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCEThe employee should have the following:High School Diploma or equivalent and training or certification in relevant skill or trade1 - 2 years' experience in a relevant fieldESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENTThe employee should possess the ability to:Be exposed to temperature extremes inside or outOperate various assembly/manufacturing/repair toolsMust be able to taste or smellMust be able to position self to maintain equipment including under equipment and in small spacesBe able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentBe exposed to sounds or noise levels that may be uncomfortableProlong standing or in stationary position for long periods of timeComplete repetitive movementsBend or twistWear all required personal protective equipmentLift/move/transport items up to 75 poundsBe in the position to move/traverse about inside site to access machinery, etc.Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particlesShould have strong hand-eye coordinationSpecific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depthSufficient physical reflexes and personal mobilityConstantly operates machinery, positions, sets up, handles or tends to, modifiesWork outside of normal business hours, occasionally on short noticeThis is not necessarily an all-inclusive list of job-related responsibilities, duties, skills, efforts, requirements, or working conditions.
