Job Overview: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the preventative maintenance and upkeep of the property, including guest rooms, public areas, equipment and the structure. The technician is also responsible for completing basic electrical, carpentry, plumbing, mechanical and painting work as directed in accordance to company and brand standards.Reports To: Chief Engineer, General Manager, Managing PartnerKey Relationships: All hotel departments and staff, Hotel guests, Inside and Outside Vendors and ContractorsEssential Job Duties:
- Comply with all departmental policies, procedures, and standards.
- Maintain complete knowledge of the correct maintenance and use of equipment, using equipment only as intended.
- Anticipate guest needs, respond promptly, and always maintain a cheerful outlook.
- Complete room checks daily, ensuring all amenities are in good condition, replacing anything in need of repair.
- Complete daily inspections of gym equipment, repairing and replacing as needed.
- Complete pool cleaning and chemical testing, daily.
- Complete basic furniture assembly and repair.
- Resolve guest complaints and requests, ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Organize materials, tools, and equipment to perform daily assignments.
- Perform basic electrical work requests to include replacing of light bulbs, switches, wall receptacles, resetting circuit breakers, as necessary.
- Perform basic plumbing work requests to include unclogging sink drains, toilets, shower drains, valves, gaskets, washers, and seals, using related tools.
- Perform basic contract work requests to include painting, replacement of tiles, and flooring.
- Complete preventative maintenance work orders.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in work area.
- Maintain proper use, cleaning, and storage of tools.
- Handle chemicals as directed for designated uses and surfaces.
Job Requirements:
- Possess a high school diploma, or equivalent.
- Must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision.
- Able to communicate effectively and efficiently with associates and guests.
- Able and willing to respond to emergency situations, as needed.
- Have a working knowledge, or be willing to learn, basic mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and contractor work practices, standards, and procedures.
- Be able to lift, bend, stoop, twist, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work under extreme temperatures and weather conditions.
- Must be able to physically move about property, guest rooms, and beach for prolonged hours.
