DescriptionJob Summary:Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for conducting scheduled and unplanned maintenance activities on all facility equipment in support of manufacturing operations. Safety & Regulatory:
- Understands and complies with Cal-OSHA regulations and company specific safety procedures.
- Complies with all company food safety and quality management policies and procedures.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Executes scheduled and preventative maintenance activities as assigned by the Maintenance Manager or CMMS system (MaintainX).
- Responds to unplanned maintenance related issues, troubleshoots, and repairs equipment to reduce downtime.
- Safely and competently operates, maintains, and attends to facility steam boilers including feed water system, burners, vessel, and chemical treatment equipment.
- Must learn general operation of all plant production equipment.
- Provides coverage for machine operators during lunch and break periods.
- Demonstrates a commitment to safety and awareness via maintenance actions and facility support.
- Works with the Quality department to ensure maintenance related compliance to the food safety management system.
- Completes work with attention to detail, and a cooperative, respectful attitude.
- Occasionally oversees or assists with work conducted by vendors/contractors.
- Effectively communicates with machine operators and managers in all departments.
- Appropriately documents all work performed in appropriate system.
- Other duties, responsibilities and/or tasks as assigned.
RequirementsRequired Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to follow instructions from management or senior maintenance workers.
- Knowledge of basic mechanical and electrical equipment and repair.
- Ability to use cloud-based CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), Microsoft Office, and Outlook.
- Ability to operate various equipment including forklifts, scissor-lifts, and boom-lifts.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English (without an interpreter).
- Ability to work in a team environment with respect, cooperation, and integrity.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Willingness to work occasional overtime as needed.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of previous maintenance experience.
- Prior food manufacturing and/or boiler experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing and walking.
- Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
- Must be able to regularly move and/or lift 50 pounds.
