1 for Altoona & Duncansville & 1 for Tipton
2nd Shift Maintenance Technicians (2 openings)
2:30 PM to 11 PM, Could be flexible on hours at 1 PM to 9 PM if could work better for family scheduling. Full Benefits and great 401K.
- Must Have experience working with industrial machines in a manufacturing environment and working with high voltage (24 Volts and 480 volts) and low voltage and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems.
- Some fabrication and plumbing and working with PLC's. Can train on specific Allen Bradley and Rockwell Automation that they use.
- Must not be afraid of heights as some of the work will require working on a scissor lift and or boom lifts.
- Temperatures will work on converting line and also work on new process lines where during summer temps are over 100 degrees in that one area. Winter its 70s but summer can be warm
- Electrical very important skill set needed, along with hydraulic and pneumatics, but will be VERY important part of the job to be able to do electrical troubleshooting.
- While theres some fabrication, welding, grinding, lathe, etc. the majority of the job is 1) preventative maintenance on equipment, 2) troubleshooting/repairing equipment, 3) supporting engineering projects (minimal amt of time). Repairing & preventative are 99% of job. Not best fit for machinists, ppl who make components, etc.
- Not an entry level job, because youre on your own for majority of 2nd shift you really are the go-to person. Example would be forklift repair (even know this is outsourced), however, as the solo person on 2nd ppl are going to come to YOU when the forklift breaks down, as the sole maintenance tech on shift, and now you have to tinker and begin problem resolution process fuse, battery connector, etc. Not tearing whole thing apart, but knowing how to diagnose and address issues, where to begin, what to look for. Could also be working on air lines, plumbing, changing filters. They dont want somebody whos going to dive in to rip apart motor if it was simple issue, if that makes sense. Save time, save money, know what youre looking for.
- Lock out tag out (LOTO) knowledge will also be important. Sometimes youre working on machines while running, and sometimes when its off. Knowing when you can do each. Making good use of your time. Juggling multiple things. Standard production side they have downtime to jump in but on new process thats 24/7 operational you have to be able to figure out best times to do things. Youre always doing preventative basically and then repairing when downtime comes.
- Tools they provide starter kit, get allowance, can also bring your own. Whatever you need for the job will be covered. And other PPE and safety measures are important. Safety will be very important as they do not have many accidents or incidents and plan on keeping it this way. This job will require someone that is very conscious of working safely, which requires a strong attention/awareness/common sense required.
- 24 volt machine troubleshooting. But theres also 480 volt electrical. Not for the fainthearted.
- Lastly, you must be able to work 2nd shift for long-term because everyone says 2nd for now but wants 1st and they cant guarantee when the person can get to daylight.
