Description Maintenance Technician (NIGHT SHIFT) Pallidus, Inc., is a fast-growing producer of large diameter Silicon Carbide wafers for high power and high frequency semiconductor applications in Transportation, Green Energy, Telecommunication, and Industrial markets. SCOPE The Maintenance Technician will have a mechanical and electrical background to perform maintenance, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment in support of the manufacturing operation. The role is required to perform a range of duties and responsibilities that can differ from day to day depending on the jobs that they are assigned. This can include anything from routine maintenance work to specialized repairs. This is a night shift position (6PM-6AM) and includes a $2/hour shift differential.
RESPONSIBILITIES - Perform routine maintenance of various equipment including: vacuum furnaces, machining equipment, lappers and polishers, wet benches and metrology equipment.
- Able to work in a cleanroom environment
- Troubleshoot and repairing of manufacturing equipment when issues arise
- Applying preventative measures to the building and equipment to reduce the risk of future problems including greasing, filter changes etc.
- Identifying and fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries
- Assess equipment and/or machinery to accurately diagnose and repair issues
- Liaise with operations to determine their requirements and communicate defects or problems
- Provide routine inspections and inform operations of any issues
- Keep an accurate log of all work performed
- Maintain and clean shop equipment and tools to ensure they are kept in a safe and usable condition at all times
REQUIREMENTS - High School Diploma or GED
- 2-3 years of experience as mechanic, electrician or maintenance technician
- Be able to contribute effectively in a team environment and interface well with others
- Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel and follow safety protocol
- Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and other systems
- Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds
- Strong understanding of general maintenance processes and methods
- Experienced in operating a variety of equipment and small hand tools
- Working knowledge of tools, vacuum systems, common appliances, and devices
- Experience working in clean room environments desirable.
- Good written / oral communication, reading and comprehension skills.
- Stand, sit or walk for extended periods of time
- Reach, bend, squat, lift arms over head
- Use fine motor skills to operate office equipment and/or machinery
- Must be a US Citizen or be a lawful permanent resident of the U.S. to meet Export Control requirements
