Additional responsibilities include buildings and facilities maintenance and repair. Work performed includes electrical, programmable logic control, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and welding operations associated with installation and repair of all types of equipment, machinery, overhead cranes, heating and plumbing compressors, pumps, conveyors, motors and boilersTYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS Requires full range of body motion to include: frequent lifting, bending, twisting, kneeling, pushing, pulling, stooping, squatting, reaching and working overhead. Such activities are often performed for extended periods of time and in tight, awkward positions (such as underneath, reaching over or on top of machinery and equipment) or at heights up to forty feet to perform maintenance on tube-processing equipment, machinery and overhead cranes.* Position requires frequent walking and/or standing on concrete floor during a twelve-hour shift while wearing steel-toed shoes. Maintenance Technician may walk up to two (2) miles per twelve-hour shift while performing essential duties.* Position requires the ability to walk on slippery, unstable surfaces while maintaining one's balance. The ability to maintain one's balance while performing the required work tasks is essential.* Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.* Requires frequent unassisted lifting of a variety of objects from various positions, which range in weight from 5 to 50 pounds with an average weight of 34-37 pounds.* While proper lifting standards are required and emphasized, there is great strain on a Maintenance Technician's back. For example, Maintenance Technician's carry either a tool pouch or a tool box from equipment to equipment to perform essential functions of their job. The average weight of a tool pouch is 18-22 lbs. and the average weight of a tool box is 25-30 lbs. Tool pouches are either worn slung over their shoulder or around their waist.* Maintenance Technician's utilize a variety of hand positions such as turning, twisting, and pounding. Some tools used by the Maintenance Technician vibrate, cut, grind, and weld.* The job is fast paced and the ability to deal with stress is essential.TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONSIndoor, manufacturing environment with regular exposure to loud and prolonged noise. Noise exposure is constant, which includes the noise of machinery and overhead cranes. Noise exposure also includes frequent and extremely loud clanging sounds caused from metal tubing banging against each other during processing. Employees are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to include noise/hearing protection, safety glasses with side shields and steel toed work shoes. Employee work 12 hour shifts experiencing regular exposure to hot temperatures of 95 F to 110 F in the summer due to the combination of the actual outside temperature and heat from the processes inside the facility. Employees are also exposed to cold temperatures, which is dependent on the actual outside temperature.EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIESA typical day consists of the following tasks:* Senior Maintenance Technician's competencies and skills will be determined by Maintenance General Business Manager and skill based pay level will be assigned.* Performs required and/or scheduled Preventive Maintenance checks and performs adjustments, cleaning, lubrication and replacement of parts on various equipment to ensure that the equipment is in superior operating and safe conditions.* Uses a variety of power and hand tools such as, but not limited to, drills, saws, wrenches, screwdrivers, hammers and grease guns to perform repairs and maintenance of machinery and equipment.* Uses electrical arc welder, grinder and cutting torch.* Repairs may include working with voltage up to and including 600 volts DC and 480 volts AC.* Senior Maintenance Technician will set up and operate various types of production machinery and equipment after they have performed a repair or rebuild prior to approving production usage to ensure superior operating and safe conditions.* Operates fork truck whenever necessary.* Operates scissor lift when maintenance or repairs are needed to be performed at heights. When work at heights is required the average height is twenty feet. The maximum height that Senior Maintenance Technician will work at is forty feet.* Required to work from verbal or written instructions.* Required to read blueprints in order to troubleshoot and repair equipment.* Required to be First Responders to any emergency, either equipment or personnel and are trained in CPR and First Aid.* Often required to crawl into, under, or on top of equipment and machinery, including Heat Treat Furnaces while following OSHA Confined Space Regulations.* Required to dismantle, move, install, or repair machinery or mechanical equipment, to repair, rebuild or replace broken parts usually of the heavy type.* Often required to work on overhead cranes - such work may require Senior Maintenance Technician to perform repairs actually on top of the crane structure at heights of 40 feet while being tied off or strapped securely to the overhead crane.* Often required to climb ladders to make repairs, rebuild or install equipment or machinery.* Works on major projects such as complete equipment and machinery rebuilds, design alterations or modification of existing equipment or machinery.* Communicates with production operators to obtain information on nature of equipment failure in order to trouble shoot problems and examine machinery or mechanical equipment to identify reason for malfunction.* Utilizes electrical meters and hand tools to perform maintenance repairs, rebuilds, and troubleshooting on production machinery's In-Line Ink Jet equipment.* Performs repairs on banding equipment. Such equipment is used to wrap and secure metal banding around bundles of tubing. Equipment includes tensioners, crimpers, and hand-held tools with an average weight of 10-15 lbs. each. Senior Maintenance Technician may be required to dismantle these tools, troubleshoot the repair needed, or perform preventive maintenance on tools such as changing wheels or o-rings . All tools are required to be tested and approved by the Quality Control Tensile Technician before tools are released for production usage.* Lays out, assembles, installs, tests, repairs and adjusts electrical fixtures, apparatus, equipment, machinery, and wiring. Examples of equipment include, but are not limited to, motors, welding equipment, lighting fixtures, circuit breakers, transformers, programmable logic controls.* Installs, repairs, and calibrates electrical and electronic recording devices, and regulating control instruments.* Measures, cuts, threads and installs electrical conduit. Pulls wiring through conduit. Splices wires. Connects wiring to fixtures and power equipment. Installs grounding leads. Installs and monitors performance of installed electrical equipment for hazards, adjustments or replacement.* Repairs, installs, replaces and tests electrical circuits, equipment and appliances within facility using hand tools and testing instruments.* Inspects and tests electrical lighting, signal, communication and power circuits.* Isolates defects in wiring, switches, motors and other electrical equipment using testing instruments such as ammeter, ohmmeter, voltmeter, or testing lamp.* Replaces faulty switches, sockets and other simple elements of electrical systems.* Dismantles electrical machinery and replaces defective electrical or mechanical parts such as gears, brushes and armatures.* Mounts motors, transformers and lighting fixtures into position and completes circuits according to diagram specifications.* Senior Maintenance Technician works within a team of other Senior Maintenance Technicians and one supervisor. Throughout the day the Senior Maintenance Technician will respond to calls from production operators to perform various maintenance or repair tasks.* May be required to fill-in for other positions when there is a need.* Performs other duties as assigned.* Webco has determined this position involves safety-sensitive job duties and will be considered a safety-sensitive position for purpose of the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act ( The Unity Bill. ) effective August 29th, 2019.PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS1) Knowledge, skills and abilities: Ability to deal with stress and get along with co-workers and supervisors. Ability to read and speak English is preferred. Mathematical skills equivalent to high school level required. Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers. Regular attendance at work and punctuality are essential job functions.
