Job Description:
Our client is a very large employer in the on the Fairfield County, New Haven County line. They have over 300 employees and are a plastics manufacturer. The company has a 24/7 operation with a lot of stability and growth opportunity. Many of their employees are highly tenured. They are currently seeking Maintenance Technicians.Why Work Here:?

Responsibilities:
  • Installs and repairs of leaking pipes, clogged pipes and air lines, etc., as well as electrical and lighting fixtures.
  • Performs light welding and carpentry duties.
  • Performs seasonal duties regarding grounds keeping, including snow removal.
  • Maintains and installs facility-related equipment, such as compressors, tower water systems, heating and A/C system, elevators, lifts, exhaust fan units.
  • Maintains and installs production-related equipment, such as tow motors, grinders, dust collectors, stretch wrap machines, gantries, trolleys, and hoists.
  • Maintains company vehicles.
  • Carries beeper for 24-hour access in case of emergency maintenance of air compressors, boiler, and furnace; on-call for seven-day period on a six-week rotating basis; may have to work a holiday if down time provided; must be able to work occasional overtime.
  • Misc. duties as needed.
Qualifications
  • Logical reasoning: Ability to understand instructions and troubleshoot problems. Ability to work independently from blueprints, work orders, and schematics.
  • Mathematical: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide in all units of measure. Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Technical: Knowledge of auto mechanics. Ability to operate a plow truck. Ability to perform occasional work from ladders at heights above 10'. Ability to use electronic testing equipment and meters.
  • Technological: Computer experience is a plus.
High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED). Eight years of related experience and/or training is preferred. Certificates in welding, boiler repair, electronics, auto repair, and related fields a plus. Technical school and/or degree a plus. Must possess and maintain a CT driver's license.Pay Rate: $28 per hour.Schedule: Sun 8:00 AM - 4:30 PMMon - Thurs 3:30 PM - 12:00 AMIND-123
