Job Summary
The Technical School Maintenance Trainee is responsible for learning and applying skills they are learning at school to maintain equipment and facilities to operate in the safest and most productive electro-mechanical condition, supporting continuous improvement, production strategies and plant reliability of snack food equipment and facility maintenance and repair.
Essential Job Duties
* Practices and complies with all plant and maintenance department safety procedures, including but not limited to: Lock-Out - Tag-Out; Arc Flash, Hot Work, Confined Space, Fall Protection
* Follows all applicable good manufacturing practices (GMP's) for area assigned.
* Maintains and uses appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), food handling before and after equipment inspection and repair activities.
* Attends classes, seminars, and in-house training as needed to maintain skill level with changes in the industry.
* Assists in making improvements and suggestions to optimize maintenance program.
* Executes and documents planned and unplanned work findings and data during shift via computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
* With assistance, execute electrical and mechanical work orders in accordance to policy.
* Assists with equipment breakdowns/repairs and resolution.
* Learns methodologies including, but not limited to: root cause analysis (RCA) and break down failure analysis (BDA) .
* Develops and demonstrates an understanding of various diagrams which may include but are not limited to: Single Line Electrical Drawings, mechanical and electrical equipment schematics, pneumatics, hydraulics, Pipe and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID's) etc.
* With assistance, applies equipment care concepts of autonomous maintenance (AM) including but not limited to: Cleaning, Inspection and Lubrication (CIL) and basic parts and tools usage.
* May perform other duties as required.

* Reads and interprets common technical journals, synthesizing complex or diverse information and carries out detailed written or oral instructions, correspondence, and memos.
* Write and present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the organization.
* Communicate/interact with all levels of the organization in a professional manner. Work and function as a member in a team based environment.
* Perform simple arithmetic functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers, decimals, fractions, and mixed numbers. Able to use precision measuring equipment. Convert measures from feet/inches to decimals and vice versa. Draw and interpret bar graphs.
* Use a computer for data entry and documentation of maintenance findings on work orders. In some cases, upload and download of technical manuals and specifications from CMMS or internet. Must be able to use a basic calculator.
Education and Experience (Minimum and preferred educational requirements, years of experience needed to successfully perform the job - High School or GED, High School plus specialized vocation or technical education, college degree)
High School Diploma or GED required. Must pass plant specific maintenance interview assessment. Must be enrolled in a Technical School with an applicable curriculum.
Professional Licenses or Certifications (List professional licenses or certificates required for the job)
Valid Driver's License. Must be Forklift certified or able to obtain forklift and aerial lifts certification.

Compensation and Benefits:
The starting rate for this part-time, hourly position is $25.85.
Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
