Description: The Maintenance position is responsible for the maintenance of all district buildings, including HVAC, plumbing, carpentry and electrical. In addition, they shall perform a majority of skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the repair, adjustment, and maintenance of the building systems, equipment and structures. Starting rate: $30.40/hour Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain and/or replace filters according to the Preventative Maintenance Schedule
- Plumbing
- Repair drinking fountains
- Repair clogged drains
- Repair leaks
- Repair pumps
- General repairs
- Maintain pool filtration system
- Maintain chemicals
- Maintain records for health department
- Carpentry
- Repair and replace doors
- Flooring and wall tile
- Light construction
- Replace ceiling tile
- Snow Removal
- Plows and salts drives and sidewalks as needed
- Shovels walks and outside steps as needed
- Winter hours vary on the weather. Starting early or staying late may be required
- Working weekends and holidays may be required
- Repair door locks and lockers
- Assist with snow removal as required
- Assists in setups and takedowns for building events
- Performs other job related duties as assigned by their direct supervisor
- Adheres to Board of Education policies and procedures
- Maintain budget while ordering supplies for the campus
- Coordinate all maintenance work throughout the building
- Coordinate with general contractors on bigger projects
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, reach, grasp, feel, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, push, pull, and lift. Repetitive motions are required. The employee must lift and/or move up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 80 pounds of force frequently, and up to 50 pounds of force constantly. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Elevated work on ladders and aerial lifts is also required. Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly subject to inside and outside environmental conditions and is subject to loud noises, heat, cold, humidity, fumes, odors, dust, mists, gasses, chemicals and hazards associated with moving mechanical parts and vehicles. Occasionally works in close quarters and narrow aisles and passageways. Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Licensure
- Valid Driver's License
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- HVAC experience - preferred
- Plumbing experience - preferred
- Carpentry experience - preferred
- Basic computer skills - preferred
- Communication and computer skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
