Location: Saint Paul,MN, USA
Perform general maintenance work involving plumbing repairs, service and repair to air conditioner units, minor electrical repair, furniture assembly and light carpentry.
What will I do in this position?
Essential job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Perform basic plumbing repairs to include repair of leaks, toilet fixtures, and pipelines
* Service and repair all window and packaged terminal air conditioners maintaining efficient operation and peak performance
* Perform minor electrical repairs to include repair/replacement of lighting fixtures, and adding wall outlets
* Perform light carpentry to include sheet rock patching, wall and floor tile repair/replacement, and cabinet hanging
* Assemble furniture as needed.

Secondary job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Perform as needed light masonry work, furniture repair, and supervise student employees.
* Perform preventative maintenance throughout the campus. Assist with planning and scheduling as needed.
* Assist with snow removal.
* Perform other miscellaneous duties as needed
What will it take to succeed in this position?
Minimum Education and Experience:
* High school diploma or GED equivalent required
* Trade school degree/training and/or three years of previous maintenance experience preferred
* Continually nurture a personal relationship with Jesus Christ; serve as a consistent witness for Jesus Christ; maintain a kind, Christ-like attitude in dealing with and ministering to people within and outside of Northwestern; and faithfully uphold and embrace Northwestern's mission, doctrinal statement, and Declaration of Christian Community.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
* Ability to perform basic plumbing repairs/modifications, basic carpentry skills and minor electrical repairs/modifications
* Ability to install carpet and tile
* Ability to instruct student work force in proper use of all tools, lifting techniques, and repair of equipment
* Self motivated with the ability to work independently; recognize projects that need attention and proceed with project through completion
* Willingness to work on wide-range of projects and prioritize urgency of individual projects
* Ability to tactfully supervise and coordinate student workers schedules and work projects, instructing them in the proper way to maintain a safe working environment (proper use of all tools and/or repair equipment and proper lifting techniques)
* Knowledge of basic electrical principles
* Knowledge of basic air conditioner repair and maintenance
* Ability to pass a background check upon hire and periodically throughout the course of employment
