- High School diploma or high school equivalent
- Must possess a valid South Carolina Driver's License
- Completion of a carpentry vocational/technical school or a recognized apprenticeship program in carpentry or building trades is acceptable
- Experience of five (5) years or more in carpentry/locksmith work is preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge in the reading of blueprints
- SLED/criminal background review required
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Job Status: At-will Employee Responsible To: Director of Operations Job Duties:
- Maintains neat appearance, courteous conduct, and works amicablywith all school and maintenance personnel
- Participate in additional training provided by the Board of Education that would relate to this field of work
- Install/Repair/Replace/Provide general maintenance of all carpentry needs
- Operates and performs preventative maintenance on hand and power saws, planers, lathes, joiners, shapers, drills, sanders and a variety of hand tools
- Possess knowledge of materials, supplies and equipment relating to this field
- PHYSICAL AND VISUAL ACTIVITIES: Indoor and outdoor work in all types of weather is required. Work is described as medium to heavy requiring prolonged or repeated standing, walking, running, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and lifting. Good hand/eye coordination is essential. Pushing, pulling equipment that exceeds 101 pounds or lifting heavy equipment or supplies(up to 50 pounds)
- Perform other related duties as required as well as all other duties as assigned
