The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford is seeking qualified applicants to join our Facilities Management team. The position is classified as Maintenance Worker II in accordance with the terms set forth with Local Union No. 95-95A International Union of Operating Engineers.
Our Facilities Management Department is responsible for maintaining all facilities on our beautiful campus. Employees work year-round and perform many adjacent functions, including clearing snow from walkways, making sure building utilities are working properly, and maintaining the landscaping and flowerbeds on campus.

Requirements: This mid-level maintenance position demands a thorough understanding of standard industry systems, requiring a minimum of a high school diploma/GED. Three years' relevant experience and a valid motor vehicle operator's license. To perform duties, sufficient strength and physical dexterity are expected, including heavy lifting. This position is occasionally called to work during off-hours to meet the needs of the campus, which additional time worked is compensated.
Certification or the ability to obtain certification to administer pesticides and herbicides is desired. Individuals with experience working in a diverse, college setting, or multicultural workplace are of particular interest.

Job SummaryResponsible for the general and craft maintenance of the residence halls, operation of University equipment, preventive and scheduled maintenance to support special events, projects, conferences, planned utility outages and activities sponsored by individuals/groups using the campus facilities.
Essential FunctionsThe maintenance worker performs a variety of tasks necessary to achieve a safe and functional indoor and outdoor environment. The individual will perform general and craft maintenance both inside and outside of the buildings, preventive maintenance, equipment maintenance, and otherwise ensure campus facilities are functional and safe. The individual will mow lawns, rake and mulch leaves, trim hedges and trees; plant flowers; clear snow from walkways and parking lots; repair sidewalks, parking lots, and grounds keeping equipment; and otherwise ensure that the grounds of the campus are attractive, orderly, and healthy. The individual will also assist other maintenance workers as directed.
Physical EffortMust have the ability to travel all over the campus; work on ladders and lifts up to 50 feet; climb steps and ladders; lift up to 50 pounds, work indoors or outside, and in confined spaces.
