Perform general maintenance and repair of building structures and their mechanical, electrical and sanitary systems throughout district.Qualifications:Valid Texas drivers licenseAblity to follow verbal and written directionsKnowledge of basic construction and routine maintenance and repair problemsAbility to communicate effectivelyAbility to operate hand and power toolsAbility to work independentlyMajor Responsibilities and Duties:Repair and Maintenance of district facilities, including repairing; woodwork; replacing electrical switches, fixtures and painting; replacing and repairing plumbing fixtures and drainage systems;and replacing broken glassPerform maintenance and minor repairsAssist in the relocation of furnishing such as desks, tables, chairs, file cabinets, etcUnload shipments of school supplies and commoditiesMove and install assemble and repair all school furniture and playground equipmentHang pictures, mirrors, blackboards, bulletin boards, projection screens, towel dispensers, soap dispensers and other items as requiredInstall ceiling and flooring materialsMaintain tools and equipment and perform preventative maintenance as requiredWork conditionsContinued walking and standing; frequent heavy lifting and carrying; climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling and reaching. Work outside and inside. Exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, fumes and odorsExperience;One year experience in general maintenance preferredDays of service:250 days
