- Assist in providing a safe, beautiful and peaceful environment according to company policy, State and Joint Commission regulations, Local building Codes and OSHA.
- Tasks may include carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, drywall repair or installation, painting, mechanical repair, landscaping, gardening and other duties related to on-site, light duty construction and maintenance.
- May be required to perform outside ground and housekeeping duties as needed.
Primary Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Perform preventative maintenance on all utility, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, emergency and fire systems as assigned.
- Completes work activities and assignments.
- Builds, repairs and maintains the physical plant, furnishings and grounds in day-to-day upkeep and on all approved remodeling or new construction.
- Knowledge in the use of power tools, hand tools, texturing equipment, materials and techniques, paints and varnishes, floor and window treatments, installation of roofs, masonry and concrete installation and other associated construction processes or equipment.
- Ensures proper upkeep, appearance and use of equipment, physical plan, shop and vehicles.
- Responds to facilities requests and work orders.
- Conduct specific inspections / servicing as required to comply with all Life Safety Code and Joint Commission requirements.
- Completes projects in specified time frames and communicates variations to supervisor timely.
- Document daily per facility requirements all preventative and corrective maintenance tasks performed either in-house or by contract personnel.
- Inventory material supplies and request items needed for replenishment.
#INDBH3Qualifications Education, Skills and Requirements:
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain certifications in CPI, CPR and First Aide.
- Valid MA Driver's License
- Minimum of two years of experience in the maintenance required.
- Able to use or compute basic mathematical calculations, read and interpret safety rules, manuals, maintenance procedures and job assignments / instructions.
- Able to read and shop drawings or other work specifications and diagrams to determine the preferred procedure for constructing buildings, structures, cabinetry and other plan operation systems.
- Ability to provide excellent service to internal and external customers.
- Ability to effectively listen, process received information, and express ideas both orally and in writing in English.
- Ability to initiate action, take personal responsibility, suggest improvements, and solve problems within scope of job without being asked.
- Ability to understand and comply with government, regulatory, and company rules.
- Ability to record, report, and maintain confidentiality of information and respond to requests for information.
- Ability to get assigned work done in an acceptable manner, in the time allotted, with minimal prompting or reminders.
Physical Working Conditions and Requirements:
- Lift up to 75 pounds of weight lifted/carried unassisted
- Ability to use telephones; ability to relay clear written messages; ability to use computer keyboard and calculator.
- Ability to effectively read, write and process information; ability to input/retrieve information to/from computer and files.
- Ability to converse with others to give, take and process information in English. Ability to hear alarms and pages.
- Ability to converse in English with others to give, take and process information. Ability to maintain confidentiality of information, multi-task, coordinate projects and record/transcribe general and specific meeting minutes. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Communicate with other staff to relay concerns and observations involving patient safety.
