Posting DetailsPosition Information Position Title Maintenance Worker - PT Department Physical Plant Location Lincoln Job Category Support Staff Job Type PT Posting Number 01915 Position End DatePosition Summary Information General Description of Position Under the general direction and supervision of the Superintendent, Physical Plant, the Maintenance Worker - PT will have responsibilities for a variety of general maintenance areas including but not limited to repairs, painting, facility construction, equipment moving, grounds work including mowing, and snow removal. Normal work hours for this part-time regular position are scheduled between 7:00 a.m. and 4:30 a.m., Monday through Friday with occasional weekend hours.Essential FunctionsAid in general building/facilities maintenance.Moving Furniture - Move furniture/equipment within facilities, as well as to and from storage areas, and keep records of items being moved. These items include but are not limited to tables, chairs, file cabinets, desks, lockers, instructional equipment, and office equipment.(Seasonal) Care and Upkeep of Lawns by mowing, trimming, raking, fertilizing, spraying, and watering lawns. Work schedules (hours/days/work location) are scheduled by Southeast Community College based on the needs of the College. Work hours, shifts, days, and work locations may vary depending on the needs of Southeast Community College and are subject to modification. Emergency or scheduled special activities may require hours outside of the regular workweek.Required Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAbility to read, understand, and/or follow instructions related to hazardous materials, fertilizers, and lawn care products.Ability to communicate effectively with supervisor, campus staff, and student workers, both orally, written, in person, and on the phone.Knowledge and ability to use safe lifting and moving techniques.Knowledge and ability to safely operate power lawn equipment and hand tools.Ability to lift and carry up to (50) fifty pounds for short distances, and move tables, chairs, and media equipment.Ability to use basic computer skills.The individual must possess the above skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
