Position Type: Maintenance/CustodialDate Posted: 12/1/2023Location: Dept - Maintenance Closing Date: Until Position is FilledJob Title: Yard Crew Helper Exemption Status: Non-Exempt Reports to: Director of Maintenance/Operations Pay Grade: 02 Works with: District Personnel Days: 260 Dept. /School: Maintenance Department Primary Purpose: Under general direction of the Director of Maintenance and the daily direction of the Yard Crew Supervisor, maintains a safe and attractive grounds and landscaping for the district, using proper safety procedures. Prerequisites:
- Valid Texas Driver's License, insurable with SBCISD insurance.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Ability to read and understand written instructions.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally
- Ability to operate riding or power mower, power tools, and hand tools.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Complies with District directives and Maintenance policies and procedures as well as follows safety Picks up debris and then mows grounds throughout the district. Sweeps grass cuttings, trimmings and trash and places in school dumpster. Trims and prunes all trees and shrubs as needed, and disposes of cuttings. Performs other grounds related activities throughout the district, such as dirt work as needed, or other work required and assigned. Keeps all equipment clean and operates equipment according to manufacturer's recommendations. Maintains clean vehicles, checks oil and water, and has vehicles filled with fuel on a daily basis. Demonstrates safe work habits in all phases of ground maintenance. Helps keep vehicle, equipment, and tools in safe operating condition. Inspects and adjusts tools and equipment for safety and efficiency and performs preventative maintenance as needed. All other duties as assigned.
