Join us as we chart our course with our core values, Compassion, Honesty, Accountability, Respect and Teamwork.Position OverviewThe Major Gifts Manager develops and implements strategies to help grow and maintain the Food Bank's base of individual major donors. The Manager is an integral part of a fundraising team with a mission to share the important story of our Central Texas neighbors facing food insecurity while increasing engagement with key individual major donors. This role is a non-supervisory position who reports to the Community Investment Director and works closely with highly engaged and passionate team members of the Resource Development department.RelationshipsThe Major Gifts Manager works in partnership with the Chief Development Officer and Community Investment Director and collaborates with all other members of the Community Investment team including the Donor Relations Manager, Donor Relations Coordinator and Donor Stewardship Coordinator. This role will also interact with other teams in the Resource Development and Communications departments. The Major Gifts Manager works externally to meet with individuals in the community and strengthen our relationships within our communities.RequirementsYour Qualifications•Bachelor's Degree•At least 3 years of fundraising experience in a full-time, wage-earning role in a nonprofit organization-specifically, experience soliciting individual donors for gifts •Ability to work cooperatively with other Food Bank staff and external stakeholder with a wide variety of backgrounds, experiences and communication styles•Ability to represent the Food Bank in a professional manner under a variety of conditions•Be an enthusiastic individual contributor that is excited to execute both strategies and high volume work•Exhibit strong verbal, written, analytical, presentation, planning, time management and organizational skills. Ability to write, edit and proofread correspondence and materials for accuracy and style.•Possess high level of integrity; able to handle information in an appropriate, confidential, and helpful manner.•Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)•Experience using constituent relationship management or fundraising databases; Raiser's Edge preferred•Belief in CTFB's mission, vision, values and culture•Display a willingness and desire to work with people from diverse ethnic, socioeconomic and religious backgrounds. •Display a commitment to service above all else.Your Responsibilities •Be a committed advocate for the wellbeing and outcomes of the neighbors that CTFB serves each day.•Create a plan of cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship for key donors, and provide a support role to other frontline fund raising staff to secure gifts and execute annual fund raising plans.•Support senior leadership and key fund raising staff in the preparation of prospect communications, stewardship and cultivation communications.•Manage a portfolio of current donors and prospects with the capacity to contribute significant support toward the priorities of CTFB.•Capture and track donor information accurately and timely in Raiser's Edge donor database, including activities such as visits, phone calls, emails, personalized correspondence, and proposals. •Build and present reports that shape the fundraising strategies for major gifts work.•Lead meetings with key fund raising staff to develop strategies and project manage the major gifts work of the entire Food Bank.•Design and coordinate targeted fundraising activities and events for prospective and current major donors, and for cultivation and recognition of current major donors.•Work across the organization to compile data and compelling information about CTFB programming and operational activity to be used in solicitations, cultivation, and stewardship materials.•Assist in the preparation of reports, data gathering, and completion of goals, metrics and deadlines.•Commit to supporting CTFB's mission, vision, values, and culture•Perform additional duties as necessary and/or requested.
