Join our team if you want to be part of our Gotham Health Family, a person-centered, fully integrated, and innovative ambulatory care network that enables all New Yorkers to live their healthiest lives.Job DescriptionPURPOSE OF POSITION:To provide radiological services to patients as a diagnostic modality.AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:General Radiology (X-RAY/DEXA)SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors.Prepares and positions patients correctly for specific examinations, observing different and special requirements for each protocol including proper documentation on images and required body part questionnaires.Assumes responsibilities for designated areas and/or procedures and produces good technical images, reviewing completed exams for quality, completeness for the type of test ordered.Assists physicians during procedures as necessary.Performs diagnostic and some special procedure medical radiographic images utilizing radiologic assistancePerforms equipment Quality assurance and calibrations as needed, orders supply.Processes film/images, or prints CD's if needed.Performs routine office tasks, such as answering phones, checking-in patients, obtaining previous reports/films, or other related duties as needed.Shows radiologist images and calls reports to the attending physician and documents communications if necessary (wet readings).May be assigned as an instructor or preceptor.Will treat all people/staff in a professional and courteous manner, upholding the WPH's behavioral standards.Introduces self and educates each patient or family member regarding the examination that is ordered.Knowledgeable and skillful in providing care, based on age, physical and psychosocial needs of different patient populations including neonate/newborn, pediatric/adolescent, adults and geriatric groups.Knowledge of QC/QA program as mandated by MQSA/FDA guidelinesParticipates in QA projects and program meetings as assigned.Maintains the cleanliness of all work areas, equipment and accessories. Reports all malfunctioning equipment to BioMed or supervisor.Participates in ongoing professional developmentMaintains current registry certification, licensure and education requirementsConforms to policies governing uniform dress code, attendance and punctuality.Maintains customer service expectations according to ICARE standardsMaintains all patients' information (confidentially) according to HIPPA compliance standards.Assists and directs patients in preparation of examination (change into gowns and getting patient on /off examination tables).Applies knowledge of Universal Precautions to minimize exposure to/spread of infectious organismsComplies with Infection Control policies and procedures, fire and medical emergency protocols, Administrative policies governing patient abuse, patient rights, and confidentiality of information (HIPAA).Utilizes two patient identifiers for patient identification.Performs other related duties as required, attends staff meetings and in-services.Coverage rotation to other outpatient offsites as needed.Duties and hours may change according to the needs of the offsite practices.Position is eligible for certification incentive.Other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications1. For Supervisory Assignments: a valid license and current registration to practice Diagnostic Radiographyas a Radiologic Technologist issued by the NYSDOH; and two (2) years of Radiologic Technologistexperience performing duties consistent with Assignment Levels I and II, one (1) year of which must havebeen in a supervisory capacity.2. For Specialized Imaging Assignments: a valid license and current registration to practice DiagnosticRadiography as a Radiologic Technologist issued by the NYSDOH; and possession of a current advanced level certification for the performance of these procedures.Department PreferencesQUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB:EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION(S)/LICENSE(S):Bachelor's Degree.The Mammographer must be a graduate of an allied health education and accredited radiography school or hospital-based program.NY State DOH Licensure or Limited Permit required.
