Summary:
We are seeking a Mammography Technologist to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will provide essential diagnostic imaging services by performing mammograms to detect and diagnose breast abnormalities. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform high-quality mammography exams as per physician orders.
- Ensure accurate patient positioning and proper operation of mammography equipment.
- Assist patients throughout the procedure, explaining the process and addressing concerns to ensure comfort.
- Maintain a sterile and safe environment in accordance with healthcare protocols.
- Review images for clarity and quality, re-performing any necessary exams to ensure diagnostic accuracy.
- Maintain proper documentation of patient records and imaging results.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including radiation safety and patient confidentiality.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to assist with the diagnosis and treatment process.
- Assist with the maintenance and care of equipment, reporting any malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.
- Follow protocols and maintain certifications to stay current with industry standards and regulations.
- Qualifications:
- Experience: At least 1 year of experience as a Mammography Technologist.
- Education: A valid Radiologic Technologist license issued by the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH).
Certifications:
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification.
- Mammography Certification (Post-primary certification in mammography from ARRT).
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (preferred).
- Proficiency in operating mammography equipment and performing imaging procedures with high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with patients to ease concerns and ensure proper care.
- Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism, accuracy, and confidentiality in all aspects of patient care.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of mammography procedures and imaging techniques.
Familiarity with relevant imaging equipment and software for diagnostic purposes.
