Summary:
The Manager, Ambulatory Coding Education & Clinical Documentation will be directly responsible for the oversight of the Health System's Provider Coding Education Program and the Ambulatory Clinical Documentation Improvement and HCC Risk Diagnosis capture initiatives. The position will manage a team of Coding Educator & CDI Specialists and will work with them to perform chart reviews, identify deficiencies and trends, create education plans/strategies and work directly with Catholic Health Physician Enterprise leadership to improve the documentation so that E/M level billing and HCC diagnosis capture is appropriate. This position is responsible for communicating documentation and professional coding regulations, policies, and guideline changes to all applicable parties across the health system and will serve as a documentation and coding subject matter expert.
The manager will also provide an escalation point for team members in preparation and delivery of materials, particularly when disagreements of perspective and interpretation occur. The position will oversee the establishment and ongoing of metrics reporting and the dissemination of this information to the various stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
EDUCATIONBachelor's degree or above is requiredOne of the following credentials is required: RN, LPN, CCS-P, CPC, CRC, or other coding credentialEXPERIENCEExtensive clinical and Coding knowledge and understanding of pathophysiology demonstrated by at least five (5) years of experience in E/M coding or nursingKNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY
