Job Summary and Qualifications
As Manager of Social Work for Behavioral Health at our facility you will be leading a team that has a passion for creating positive patient interactions and a dedication to caring for the multi-faceted wellness of those we serve. In this role:
- You will assume the role as a leader in planning, directing, and managing the Behavioral Health staff to assure quality service.
- You will be responsible for meeting Joint Commission standards, complying with state regulations, and complying with corporate policies and procedures.
- You will coordinate the scheduling of current staff to support operational needs and stay within budgetary guidelines.
- You will monitor all staff performance on a continual bases and provide for professional growth and development of staff through identification of needs and implementation of continuing education programs.
- You will manage supplies and equipment on the units and recommend improvements as needed, making recommendations concerning budgeting, cost and financial matters.
- You will work to build and maintain sound organizational relationships within the hospital and community.
- You will assist with monitoring quality metrics, ensuring compliance with core measures, and developing/implementing Performance Improvement projects to support quality assurance and utilization review operations.
What qualifications you will need:
- RN License
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) Certification
- Possess a Masters Degree in psychiatric or mental health nursing or its equivalent from an accredited school of nursing. Five years of registered psychiatric nursing experience may be substituted for Masters Degree.
- Prefer two years of psychiatric nursing experience as a registered nurse in the specialty area of psychiatry, one of which was in a supervisory capacity.
- Requires biannual Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) training (online within 30 days, classroom within 60 days).
