Manager - Central Sterile Processing - Days

Full Time (80 Hours/Biweekly)

General Summary
Oversees the activities of the hospital's central supply personnel regarding stocking and furnishing of sterile and nonsterile supplies and equipment.
Essential Functions:
+ Oversees sterilization, assembly and storage of medical supplies and equipment.
+ Establishes and oversees methods for preparing, handling and storing sterile equipment and materials.
+ Directs the requisitioning, sorting, labeling and issuing of professional equipment.
Common Expectations:
+ Recommends staffing levels, selects and assigns staff, evaluates performance, evaluates/tests competencies (as applicable), provides orientation, training and continuing education of staff, and initiates or makes recommendations for personnel actions.
+ Develops and recommends department/entity operating budget and ensures that department/entity operates within budget.
+ Creates policies and procedures for inventory control and issuance of supplies and equipments.
+ Coordinates and integrates services within the department/service line/entity, with other departments/service lines/entities, and with the System's primary functions. Participates in the selection of outside services (if needed).
+ Develops, establishes and implements goals, objectives, and policies and procedures for department/service line/entity operation, and which guide and support the provision of the department/service line/entity's services.
+ Establishes and maintains department/entity safety, environmental and/or infection control standards.
+ Continuously assesses and improves the department/service line/entity/System's performance. Maintains appropriate quality control/assessment programs (if applicable).
+ Directs the preparation and maintenance of department reports. Prepares periodic reports for top management, as required.
+ Recommends sufficient space and other resources required by the department/service line/entity.
+ Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
+ Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.
+ Maintains inventory records and submits requisitions to ensure that adequate supply levels are kept on hand.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
+ Associates Degree Required
Work Experience:
+ 2 years Relevant experience Required and
+ Supervisory experience Required
Licenses:
+ Certified Registered Central Service Technician Upon Hire Preferred
