Position: Manager, Commercial Data Visualization
Job Description:
Forward Air is seeking a Manager, Commercial Data Visualization, who will play a pivotal role in designing and developing interactive and visually engaging data visualizations to drive actionable insights that support revenue growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, a keen eye for design, and experience with various data visualization tools. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and develop data-driven solutions that address key business challenges and capitalize on emerging opportunities in the LTL and Freight Forwarding industry.
Core Responsibilities & Duties:
* Data Analysis and Interpretation, Visualization Design, Tool Development and Management, Collaboration and Communication, and Quality Assurance
* Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights
* Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data requirements and objectives
* Conduct ad-hoc analysis and provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership based on data insights
* Design and create interactive dashboards, charts, graphs, and reports that effectively communicate data insights
* Develop and implement visual standards and best practices to ensure consistency and clarity
* Utilize tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or other visualization software to build and maintain visualizations
* Continuously explore and recommend new tools and technologies to enhance data visualization capabilities
* Work closely with Sales Leaders, Analysts, and business units to translate complex data into user-friendly visualizations
* Present findings and visualizations to stakeholders, providing clear and actionable insights
* Ensure accuracy and integrity of visualizations by conducting thorough testing and validation
* Address and resolve any issues related to data quality or visualization functionality
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Graphic Design, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred
* Minimum of 7 years of experience in data visualization, data analysis, or a related role, preferably in Transportation, Logistics, or Supply Chain disciplines
* Proven experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar
* Working knowledge of freight management systems and familiarity with industry-specific datasets
* Strong proficiency in data visualization best practices and principles
* Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present data clearly
* Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or other data manipulation languages is a plus
* Strong attention to detail and design aesthetics
