Job Description Corporate Communications Manager (internal + external hybrid) JOB SUMMARY The Corporate Communications Manager plays an important role on IPG Health's global Corporate Communications teams, driving impactful strategic initiatives across the department's external and internal functions.The Manager will assist with the development and execution of the external communications strategy including media relations, thought leadership, and industry awards and recognition. They will also support the group's internal communications agenda to fuel connectivity, collaboration and engagement across the global network.This role must be comfortable and confident providing media counsel to senior level members and clients. The Manager will report directly to the VP, Director of PR & Communications. JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Writing - strong, creative writing across internal and external audience groups:
  • Draft, review and edit a wide range of written communications including agency and people award submissions, internal memos, press release, fact sheets, newsroom content, social media captions, etc.
  • Produce employee communications: Develop and author a variety of compelling and informative internal communications, including newsletters, announcements, presentations, interviews, and blogs to be delivered across a variety of communications channels (email, intranet, social, digital, etc.)
PR & Media Relations
  • Assist with the development of overall PR strategy including defining media opportunities for innovative storytelling across a range of genres and formats.
  • Drive PR for creative campaigns and other client work
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key journalists and media outlets with a focus on top tier business and marketing trades
  • Proactively create and uncover opportunities to promote IPG Health's corporate and agency narrative(s), executives, creative work, and offering across the full media landscape
  • Actively monitor competitive and media landscapes to identify press and thought leadership opportunities for executives and subject-matter experts, secure stories with media, appearances in key strategic industry events and address any inaccuracies.
  • PR results tracking and reporting
  • Development and submission of industry awards, rankings, and surveys
Internal Communications support as needed. This could include:
  • Work cross-functionally across teams, collaborate closely with various departments, including HR, IT, Compliance, ERGs/BRGs, Operations, etc. to ensure cohesive communication and consistent messaging.
  • Help drive employee engagement: Collaborate with the senior internal communications manager to create inventive programming across various platforms, such as organizational analysis and change programs, onboarding initiatives, career development plans, internal event, and more.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or Public Health preferred but not requiredEXPERIENCE: 5-8 years Corporate PR and agency experience required.KEY SKILLS:•Outstanding public relations skills, both verbal and written.•Ability to present to a range of stakeholders at a senior level and at client events.•Creative talents with an ability to initiate new campaigns.•Delegation and supervisory skills.•Keen networker with an ability to build and maintain large numbers of industry and media contacts.•Team player with leadership and management skills within a PR environment.•Project management talents with an aptitude for organization and attention to detail.•Ability to analyze complex data and interpret it for a range of audiences.•Business acumen with the ability to communicate across departments and represent PR at a senior level within the business.MANDATORY CORE COMPETENCIES Strategic ThinkingSees the big picture.
