Job Summary:
The Sales Manager for the Birmingham World Police & Fire Games will be instrumental in driving corporate development and sponsorship efforts on behalf of the organization. This role will focus on identifying and securing corporate partnerships, sponsorships, and other revenue-generating opportunities to support the successful execution of the event. The Sales Manager will work closely with the SVP of Corporate Development to cultivate relationships, negotiate agreements, and maximize revenue streams.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Corporate Development and Sponsorship:
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to identify, approach, and secure corporate partnerships and sponsorships for the Birmingham World Police & Fire Games.
- Conduct market research to identify potential sponsors and partners aligned with the organization's objectives and target audience.
- Build and maintain relationships with corporate decision-makers, sponsors, and partners through proactive outreach, networking, and relationship management.
- Collaborate with the SVP of Corporate Development to create customized sponsorship packages and proposals tailored to the needs and objectives of potential sponsors.
- Negotiate sponsorship agreements, contracts, and partnership terms to ensure mutual benefit and maximum return on investment.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for sponsors and partners, providing exceptional customer service and support throughout the partnership lifecycle.
2. Revenue Generation:
- Meet and exceed sales targets and revenue goals established by the organization.
- Identify and pursue new revenue-generating opportunities, including ticket sales, merchandise sales, licensing agreements, and ancillary event revenue streams.
- Develop innovative sales strategies and promotional campaigns to drive ticket sales, increase event attendance, and maximize revenue potential.
- Work closely with marketing and communications teams to develop promotional materials, sales collateral, and advertising campaigns to support sales efforts.
3. Relationship Management:
- Cultivate strong relationships with existing sponsors, partners, and stakeholders to ensure retention and renewal of sponsorship agreements.
- Provide ongoing support and communication to sponsors, ensuring they receive the full benefits and value outlined in their sponsorship agreements.
- Act as a brand ambassador for the Birmingham World Police & Fire Games, representing the organization professionally at meetings, events, and industry conferences.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or related field.
- Proven track record of success in sales, corporate development, or sponsorship acquisition, preferably in the sports or events industry.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to close deals and secure commitments from corporate partners and sponsors.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and credibility with senior-level executives and decision-makers.
- Strategic thinker with a results-driven mindset and a proactive approach to identifying and pursuing opportunities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong collaboration and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) preferred.
- Flexibility to travel as needed for meetings, conferences, and events.
