Manager Data EngineeringThe Manager Data Engineering provides thought leadership to deliver creative and efficient Data solutions. This role leads the development of strategic Data plans for products and/or initiatives. This role is also responsible for leading their resources to develop high level Data delivery plans based on a set of objectives (scope, delivery and technical approaches, risk, assumptions, staffing plans, other cost, and ongoing operational plans and cost). The Manager also oversees client, customer and vendor relations to ensure that service expectations are met or exceeded, and coaches and mentors employees. This role will be responsible for delivery of Data solutions, Data warehouse/lakehouse, analytics and reporting solutions, and will manage a team of Data Engineers.The Manager will work independently and with teams to create technical, database design, data flow architecture & documentation, and will collaborate closely with technology and data partners. This role will be responsible for evaluating architecture processes, data models, and patterns to provide recommendations to improve standards. The Manager will participate in code reviews; ensure timely code merges and successful deployments; enforce and improve CICD methodologies; manage and help with story assignments by assessing the task, technology, and skills of team members; and participate & oversee knowledge sharing and Agile internal demo sessions.Position Responsibilities:StrategyPartner with corporate functional leaders to create and execute a technology strategy that will enhance overall business capabilities.Stay abreast of technology industry trends and best practices.Continuously transform the organization to increase efficiencies and reduce overall expense.Partner with innovation team to test and learn emerging technology and its viable applicability to enhance corporate business capabilities.Delivery Planning and ExecutionCreate, prioritize, plan and execute portfolio/product roadmaps or initiatives through collaboration with Technology and appropriate business partners.Reduce time to market by utilizing Agile methodologies and/or applying appropriate methodologies, e.g. dev/sec/ops.Surface issues and risks; escalate for resolution.Provides insights on risks based on broad experience.Ensure employees deliver new technology solutions and capabilities in accordance with the roadmap and ensure that they meet established objectives and expectations of business partners and/or colleagues.Technology/Operational/Risk ControlCultivate good system management disciplines including clearly defined and documented roles and responsibilities, documented phase processes and checkpoint and detailed planning for system deployment.Define and report metrics based on overall business objectives.Ensures compliance and control activities support technology and enterprise business objectives and are aligned with executive risk tolerances and expectations.Ensures processes and controls within assigned area to enhance performance, security, reliability and availability of systems.Drive a continuous improvement and compliant culture through documented policies, procedures and architecture.LeadershipManage and develop team cultivating a spirit of one team with shared goals and objectives.Select, motivate and retain high performing talent.Provide on-going feedback to maximize overall performance.Position Qualifications:Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or other relevant technology degrees and/or experience or equivalent through a combination of education and/or technology experience or High School diploma or GED and 12 years of progressively responsible experience6 years of technology experience and proficiency6 years of experience leading large, complex/critical technology projects5 years of experience influencing strategy for large organizations5 years of experience managing data teams5 years of experience in data architecture, developing ETL data pipeline solutions to AWS S3 lake, Snowflake lakehouse including data migration from legacy to AWS cloud by implementing data governance & security standards5 years of experience with data modeling, cataloging, and MDM5 years of experience developing ETL solutions to data lake and lakehouse by creating high quality data pipelines, overseeing data migration from legacy to cloud leveraging Informatica, IICS, and data quality IDQ5 years of experience in SQL and Python including SQL performance & tuning5 years of experience mentoring team members, guiding them to overcome development roadblocks to ensure smooth deliverables by applying data profiling, quality, validation, & lineage standardsThis position is not eligible for sponsorship.
