Job Description:
Job Summary:Idaho Forest Group is currently seeking a Dry End Manager to join our team.Responsible for production management of the dry end operations, including the boiler, kiln, planer, and shipping departments. This includes production schedule, direction of shift and maintenance employees and implementation of safety, environmental, quality policies and procedures and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.Key Responsibilities:Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Safety Leadership: Establish and uphold comprehensive safety protocols aimed at achieving a zero-incident workplace, fostering a culture of safety that prioritizes the well-being of all employees and ensures a secure working environment.
  • Quality Assurance: Guarantee that all products consistently meet established quality standards by actively identifying and minimizing defects, while implementing continuous improvement processes to enhance overall product quality.
  • Production Management: Enhance production efficiency to consistently meet or exceed operational targets by rigorously analyzing uptime data, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing targeted improvements that streamline processes and optimize workflow.
  • Team Development: Provide comprehensive training, coaching, and evaluation for team members to cultivate a culture of accountability and high performance, empowering individuals to reach their full potential while driving overall team success.
  • Collaborative Problem Solving: Collaborate closely with fellow managers and supervisors to identify and capitalize on opportunities for repairs and enhancements, ensuring alignment across departments to drive operational excellence and foster a cohesive working environment.
  • Sales Collaboration: Collaborate closely with sales teams to align production capabilities with market demands, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries while optimizing resources to meet customer expectations.
  • Department Organization: Ensure a clean and organized workspace to enhance operational efficiency and safety, fostering an environment that promotes productivity and reduces risks.
  • Continuous Improvement: Evaluate and implement ROI-driven initiatives aimed at enhancing departmental performance, with a strong emphasis on boosting productivity and achieving significant cost savings.
  • Adaptability: Execute additional related duties as required to support overall operational goals, contributing to the seamless functioning of the team and organization.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Working knowledge of lumber grading rules and standards.
  • Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test, post-offer pre-employment physical, and background check.
  • Valid Driver's License with acceptable motor vehicle history for business travel in company vehicle.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous experience in a planer mill.
