Position OverviewTonix is seeking a full-time Manager, Facilities to support a life science research and development facility. The individual in this position functions as a key central member of the facilities team responsible for the maintenance of facilities systems and equipment, both self-performed and overseeing vendors. This role is an exempt (salaried) position that will report directly to the Director, Facilities and will be based at the Tonix Frederick, MD facility.Essential Duties
- Responsible for operation and maintenance activities at the Frederick, MD facility
- Acts as a primary point of contact and supervises maintenance vendors and contractors
- Coordinates, schedules, and performs repairs associated with preventive maintenance and repair work orders
- Operates the building automation system (BAS)
- Provides on-call emergency maintenance support
- Follow all established occupational health and safety procedures, good manufacturing practices (GMP's) and standard operating procedures (SOP's)
- Uphold company mission and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork
- Perform ad-hoc work/special projects to support Tonix on various business initiatives
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new team members
- Oversees the daily workflow of the department
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations
- If necessary, handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy
- Contributes to performance and compensation decisions such as: merit raises, bonuses, and promotions
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent required
- Trade school or undergraduate education is preferred
- Ability for minimal travel
- Dedicated team player who can withstand the high demands of a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
- Highly organized, results driven, problem solver, and collaborator
- Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation
- Five or more years of facility maintenance experience
- Knowledge of MEP Systems, including HVAC, boiler, and electrical power systems
- Adept at reading blueprints and facility specification documentation
- Familiarity with electrical and building codes
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
- Experience working within a BMS system is required.
