Job Responsibilities
  • Preparation and submission of SEC filings (Form 10-Q, Form 10-K, Form 8-K, etc.), earnings releases, and internal reporting packages.
  • Technical accounting research (U.S. GAAP and SEC Regulations) and preparation of technical memorandums.
  • Review contracts to determine proper accounting treatment.
  • Identify and implement necessary updates in financial reporting practices to adapt to evolving business operations and updates in technology.
  • Collaborate with Investor Relations answering questions/providing information.
  • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley is maintained for responsible areas.
  • Preparation of retirement plan financial statements, FERC filings, and filings with governmental agencies.
  • External audit coordination and maintaining consistent, effective communication with the external audit team.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting - Master's degree preferred (CPA designation required).
  • Managerial experience required.
  • 8+ years of total experience in accounting with an emphasis on SEC reporting.
  • 4+ years of experience in public accounting preferred.
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and SEC disclosure requirements for public companies.
  • Keen attention to detail and strong ability to analyze and interpret financial data.
  • A high sense of urgency, enthusiasm, strong initiative, and the ability to juggle multiple projects.
  • Deep understanding of ASC 932 and ASC 842.
  • Ability to perform technical accounting research and documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with a proven track record of successful teamwork, leadership, and independent project management.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with Hyperion and Workiva.
  • Oil and Gas experience strongly preferred.
  • Position will be filled at a level commensurate with experience.
