Pay: $69,000 - $72,000 Annual
Benefits:
New management full-time team members working 30 hours or more per week, will be eligible for the Company medical, dental and life insurance plans the first of the month following the first day of full-time employment.
Full-Time team members are eligible to accrue Paid Time Off ( PTO ) in accordance with the Company policy at a rate of 120 hours per year.
Full-Time team members are eligible for 7 paid holidays annually.
All team members 21 years and older are eligible to participate in the J.F. Shea Co., Inc. 401(k) plan after completion of 30 days of service.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Fitness Manager supports the daily operations of the Fitness facilities, including implementing marketing and sales plans, training and supervising staff, processing payroll, and facility management and maintenance. This position reports to the Club Manager and General Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Ensure the Trilogy Experience for members and guests by modeling and maintaining the standards set in the Trilogy 10 and adhering to BlueStar Resort & Golf (BSRG) and facility policies.
* Support daily operations including opening and closing procedures, facility inspections, cash handling procedures, and general facility maintenance.
* Provide hospitality to members and guests and support to staff when needed. Monitor monthly sales promotions and strategies as outlined in the marketing plan; review weekly reports for retail and services.
* Continuous development of programs and services for new and current members.
* Monitor member use and retention goals of the Club.
* Lead fitness room orientations.
* Lead fitness workshops and/or classes.
* Work with groups scheduling fitness events from initial event booking through the event.
* Assist in creating and monitoring the annual budget to ensure expenses are within budgetary limits and the established financial goals.
* Assist in recruiting, hiring, training, and supervising facility staff.
* Schedule staff to ensure adequate coverage.
* Assist in developing monthly client reports.
* Provide excellent customer service and help monitor member feedback through the comment forms and other customer care techniques. Help to supervise and follow up on member requests and comments.
* Monitor facility upkeep and work with the management team to correct or upgrade any conditions that are not safe or in keeping with the Club's resort image.
* Report incidents and accidents to the Club Manager or General Manager.
* Prepare payroll and financial reports in accordance with BSRG policy.
* Implement proper inventory and purchasing procedures; submit purchase orders to the Club Manager for approval.
* Oversee pool operation, including staff, supplies, and sanitation, if applicable.
* Coordinate operation of seasonal pool bar with appropriate Food & Beverage outlet, if applicable.
* Assist staff with lifting and storing facility equipment, furniture, and products to help maintain facility and prepare for special events, as requested.
* Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:
* High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
* Three years' leadership experience in a Wellness, Health Club, Fitness Club, or Spa environment, with minimum of one-year supervisory experience required.
* CPR, First Aid and AED Certification preferred.
* Required to lead a minimum of 3 fitness workshops and/or classes per week.
* Must have a Personal Training Certificate & Group Fitness Certificate.
* Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
* Club management system software or other retail or database software a plus.
* Knowledge of professional spa and fitness services and treatments preferred.
* Knowledge of retail operations and inventory systems required.
* Must possess basic computational ability as well as budgetary analysis.
* Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, portions, and percentages.
* Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
* Must have planning, problem-solving, decision-making, delegation, time management, supervisory and employee development skills.
* Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to respond to the needs and requests of staff members, guests, and the community association.
* Must demonstrate initiative-ability to think, work, and make independent decisions, based on sound judgment.
* Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where continuous improvement is expected.
* This position requires a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends, with limited travel as required.
* Valid driver's license is required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position generally operates in a professional indoor environment with some exposure to weather conditions, and occasionally native wildlife, when outdoors on the facility grounds. There is routine use of standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, copy and fax machines. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
