Overview
The Ground Transportation Manager- DHART plays a crucial role in orchestrating and elevating the mission of our advanced response initiatives. This role is integral to ensuring that DH ground-based EMS is delivered seamlessly, efficiently, and with utmost regard to safety. It's about more than logistics and operations; it's about optimizing the intricate web of clinical care, aviation operations, and ground transport logistics. Responsibilities
* Operational Management: Supervises daily operations of ground-based transport units, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and the highest level of patient care.
* Has operational oversight of DHART Ground division to include all staff, equipment and budgetary needs.
* Ensures the proper staffing and scheduling of all DHART Ground staff. Delegates the scheduling function of DHART Ground staff members, and oversees the staffing/scheduling process.
* Participates in hiring process for DHART Ground staff. Participates in the interview process for staff members, and, provides input and recommendations to the hiring Manager/Director. Participates in DHART Ground staff performance reviews, providing performance feedback
* Procures DHART vehicles and ensures ground vehicle maintenance. Acts as the lead resource and researcher in determining the specifications for new DHART air and ground ambulance vehicles
* Manages Ambulance/DHART vehicle inspections.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Serves as a liaison between the department and other healthcare entities, regulatory agencies, and the public.
* Continuous Improvement: Monitors and analyzes departmental metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices.
* Participates in departmental goal development.
* Regulatory Compliance: Ensures compliance with all State and Federal regulations.
* Participates in reaccreditation process and maintains all operational requirements in accordance with CAMTS Standards.
* Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
* Current and unrestricted licenses as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Nationally Registered Paramedic
* Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Emergency Medical Services, Healthcare/Business Administration, or a related field.
* Master's Degree preferred
* Strong EMS and leadership experience required; critical care experience preferred
* Strong interpersonal and communications skills, with an ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
* Proficient in standard office software and healthcare IT systems.
* Prior experience in Quality Improvement Process preferred.
Required Licensure/Certifications
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Paramedic in the state of employment. Multi-state licensure may be required depending on service area.
- Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Certified Medical Transport Executive (CMTE) certification to be obtained within 3yrs of hire
