The Head of Cost Accounting will oversee all aspects of cost accounting within the organization. This pivotal role involves analyzing and managing costs associated with food production, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting strategic decision-making to enhance profitability. You will lead a team of Cost Accountants spread over 4 facilities between NJ & Long Island and collaborate closely with operations to optimize our cost structure.

Description
- Develop and implement cost accounting strategies and processes to improve financial performance.
- Analyze production costs, variances, and profitability, providing actionable insights to management.
- Prepare and maintain accurate cost records for all products and production processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish standard costs and monitor adherence.
- Oversee inventory valuation and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- Lead budgeting and forecasting activities related to manufacturing costs.
- Conduct cost audits and implement cost control measures to enhance efficiency.
- Mentor and develop a team of cost accountants, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Implement and maintain new ERP system.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in cost accounting, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within the food manufacturing sector.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, inventory management, and financial analysis.
- Proficient in accounting software and ERP systems; advanced Excel skills are a must.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of managing and developing teams.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
