Hours of Work :Days Of Week :Work Shift :Job Description :Your Job: This position has clinical authority over the infection prevention and control program and is responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing a comprehensive infection prevention & control program for the hospital staff, patients, physicians, volunteers, students, and visitors. All programs will be conducted in accordance with hospital philosophy, objectives, policy and procedures, Joint. Commission standards, regulatory requirements and professional standards. Your Job Requirements:•Masters preferred•3-5 years relevant clinical experience in infection prevention and control•Certification in Infection Control (CIC)Education:•Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Microbiology, Biology, Medical Technology, or other related science field•Master's Degree in Nursing, Public Health, or other related science field preferredLicenses and/or Certifications (Required and Preferred):•Licensure of educational background is related (e.g., Nursing, Medical Technology)•Certification by the Certification Board of Infection Control (CIC) requiredJob Roles:•Oversight of surveillance, prevention and control activities, analysis and reporting of data, and education of healthcare workers regarding key components of the program.•Responsible for the review process for policies and procedures, order sets, and other medical record forms related to infection prevention processes.•Responsible for conducting educational in-services regarding compliance with and application of regulatory and accrediting standards.•Works closely with the Quality Services staff on clinical reviews and performance measures that are associated with Infection Prevention principles and practices.•Other duties as assigned.Related Work Experience and Other Skills:•Computer literacy required (advanced Excel, Access, basic word processing or similar capabilities)•Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)•Knowledge and practice of performance improvement processes•Knowledge of state, national and other regulatory bodies' standards•Proactive with good interpersonal and conflict management skills•Proficiency in database management•Strong biostatistical knowledge and application of appropriate statistical methods and analysis•Three years of experience participating in a hospital-based infection prevention & control program consisting of surveillance, education of staff, data analysis and aggregation of consistent epidemiological practicesYour Job Responsibilities:•Communicate clearly and openly•Build relationships to promote a collaborative environment•Be accountable for your performance•Always look for ways to improve the patient experience•Take initiative for your professional growth•Be engaged and eager to build a winning teamMethodist Charlton Medical Center is a 314-bed, full-service, acute care teaching hospital that serves Cedar Hill, DeSoto, Duncanville, and Lancaster in southwestern Dallas County.
