Description and Requirements Role Value Proposition: MetLife is seeking a seasoned Technical Manager to join our dynamic team and oversee the development and management of our critical messaging infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing technical teams and projects, with a deep understanding of MQ, ACE, OpenShift and Cloud Pack for Integration Technologies. Offers innovative solutions to enhance planform stability, usability, and cost effectiveness. Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of talented engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Define and execute technical strategies and roadmaps aligned with business objectives and industry best practices.
  • Manage the implementation and maintenance of MQ, ACE, CP4I and RedHat OpenShift.
  • Collaborate with Developer partners to understand their requirements to support designing and implementing technical solutions.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation and standards for infrastructure components.
  • Oversee the 24x7 support, ensuring timely resolution of incidents and proactive monitoring of the infrastructure
  • Manage the performance and development of team members, providing coaching, mentorship, and career guidance.
  • Effectively manage contractors (onshore and offshore) ensuring their alignment with project goals and adherence to company standards.
  • Maintain knowledge currency in emerging technologies and industry trends to drive continuous improvement of middleware integration platforms.
  • Promote and utilize automation to design and support configuration management, orchestration, and maintenance of the integration platforms.
  • Design and implement complex integration solutions globally through collaboration with engineers, architects, and application teams using Agile methodologies.
  • Elevate and improve Developer experience by implementing self-service automation.
  • Mentor junior engineers and team members.
  • Plan and communicate upcoming installations, upgrades, and other maintenance activities.
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills: Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in technical leadership, ability to think strategically and effectively communicate solutions to various levels of management.
  • In-depth knowledge of MQ, ACE and or Cloud Pak for Integration technologies.
  • Strong understanding of application messaging concepts, protocols, and best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with experience working in a 24x7 support environment.
  • Experience with DevOps processes and key components.
Preferred:
  • Experience working in Agile environment.
  • Experience with modern technologies such as Cloud/Azure, Containers and Ansible
  • Knowledge of operating system (Linux, Windows, AIX, iSeries)
  • Knowledge of / experience with developing scripts for automation (Ansible, shell, Perl, PowerShell, Python, Java...)
  • Hands-on experience designing, configuring, and implementing end-to-end CI/CD pipelines and automation scripts (Azure DevOps , Power shell, Perl, PowerShell, Python, Java...)
