Job Description:

Summary

The Manager-Laboratory is responsible for oversight and leadership of high complexity testing for the laboratory sections or department including operations, accreditation, and supervision of the laboratory staff. The Manager-Laboratory assists in the overall operational, budgetary, and financial responsibilities and activities; plans and allocates resources to accomplish the work to meet productivity and quality goals; consistently exercise of discretion and judgement to maintain proper service line needs.

  • Manager will be over two labs. St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, IL and Good Shepherd Hospital in Shelbyville, IL.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree in a chemistry, biology, medical laboratory science or related field is required.

Master's degree in chemistry, biology, medical laboratory science or relevant business field is preferred.

Associate's degree in a laboratory science or equivalent education and training with at least 3 years of experience may be considered in lieu of bachelor's degree.

Experience

3 years supervisory and/or team lead experience is required.

3 years of laboratory experience is required.

Certifications, Licenses and Registrations

Applicant must be able to verify that they meet all eligibility requirements, including education, training, and/or experience per ASCP to sit for the Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Histotechnician (HT) exam, and successfully pass with pending licensure within 6 months is required.

Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), Histotechnologist (HTL), or Cytotechnologist (CT) is preferred.
