Northrop Grumman is in need of a Logistics Manager 1 to work at its Elkton, Maryland facility.
Northrop Grumman Propulsion Systems and Controls (PS&C) facility in Elkton, Maryland began solid-propellant rocket operations in 1948. Today, the Elkton PS&C facility designs, develops, and produces solid-propellant propulsion and ordnance systems in programs professionally managed for a wide variety of Government and commercial customers. The facility also serves as the hub for offsite engineering and test facilities in Ronkonkoma, NY and Palm Beach Gardens, FL.
Elkton, Maryland is located on the Upper Chesapeake Bay, midway between Philadelphia and Baltimore. Responsibilities:
- Manage and develop associates by assigning duties, coordinating workloads, monitoring performance, and providing feedback. Teaching, supporting, and modeling, Logistics and company procedures. Lead role in the hiring, promotion, coaching, and evaluation of associates.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes teamwork, innovation, and productivity
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize logistics operations and improve efficiency
- Oversee all aspects of warehouse and distribution operations, including inventory management, Inventory accuracy, property management, shipping and receiving, and transportation
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement and develop action plans to address any issues
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products to customers
- Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements in the warehouse and during transportation
- Monitor and manage productivity of area of responsibility by preparing, reviewing and/or analyzing business reports
- Prepare and present regular reports on logistics operations and performance to senior management
- Maintain compliance to our Material Management and Accounting System (MMAS) requirements through process oversight, and metrics.
- Support LEAN and continuous improvement initiatives within organization.
- Lead by example, adhering to company policies and procedures.
Basic Qualifications:
- Must have at least 14 years of experience. Will consider those with a bachelors degree and at least 10 years of experience.
- 5-10 years of experience in supply chain, operations, or engineering discipline with knowledge of inventory control and inventory tracking systems.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or supply chain or equivalent experience.
- Proven accomplishments in operational cost reductions and process improvements.
- Strong knowledge of business, economic, and accounting principles and practices.
- Strong communication skills with ability to develop and maintain good communications and working relationships with internal and external clients.
- Working knowledge of receiving/inventory, production, business, and other processes in a team-based manufacturing environment
- Ability to acquire a Security Clearance which requires US Citizenship as a pre-requisite
- Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Internet
- Interpersonal skills: ability to foster teamwork and motivate/coach others
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with US defense procurement requirements (FAR/DFAR).
- Working knowledge of Government Supply Chain Management systems and requirements.
- Familiarity with hazardous materials management and inventory control requirement.
Salary Range: $93,100 - $139,700The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
